About

Principle Safety was born from need. There weren’t enough safety professionals with a penchant for proper documentation and paperwork. Nor were they with the industry knowledge and a desire for a safer working environment within the manufacturing sector in Alberta.

How We Started

We began by showing a medium sized business how to simply and effectively implement a Safety management system – which immediately resulted in a reduction in their WCB expenses – and the concept of Principle Safety began to grow. We started building a safety culture from the bottom up. It’s not that we didn’t have buy-in from the top, we had apathy instead and we needed to ensure viability despite the lack of presence. Our integration process allows us to succeed in harsh environments where internal efforts often fail.

Our Core Group

Our core group of clients rely on us to provide month to month safety expertise by guiding their programs, influencing their safety culture and providing a consistent message to their employees. Our methods are simple, inexpensive and effective. Our clients have maintained successful COR certificates through repeated cycles and consistently score in the high 90’s.
Once we identify the “need”, our consultants work with your management team to put together a plan that integrates into your existing framework, sets a budget and specific measurable goals to assist in meeting the objectives and measures and monitors progress to ensure successful results. Our consultants would rather “teach you to fish, instead of feeding you”. Our methods are simple, easy to understand and follow and they have been proven over time to work. Our consultants are involved in the safety profession. They volunteer with local organizations, attend educational conferences and seminars and maintain industry certifications. They also talk to each other, this lets us deliver many more years of combined experience to our solutions and give you a wide array of different industry experiences. Our auditors hold status with almost every Certifying partner in the province of Alberta, and we have the ability to perform audits for companies of any size through our affiliations and partnerships.

What We Do

Principle Safety has developed customized training for specific industry requirements. We offer WHMIS 1988-2015 for senior managers, engineers and account executives who needed to understand their Safety Data Sheets and resulting implications to a Train-the-Trainer program for Hazardous Energy Isolation which follows the CSA Standard. We bridge the gap between certification and online awareness by designing courses that illuminate, educate and empower employees to know more about safety relations to tasks they are currently performing or will be expected to perform. Where competency is required, we ensure the participants demonstrate ability to perform and pass a quiz/exam. We can also assist with iso 45001 and ohsas 18001 compliance and program maintenance.
